For parents
Is MeetSchools free for parents?
Yes — every parent feature is free. Search, school profiles, the TCO calculator, the compare grid, sending an inquiry, posting a verified review, and the AI Counselor are all free and always will be. Schools pay us for their listings and lead routing.
Why do I have to verify with an OTP to write a review?
Anyone can rate a hotel, but a school choice shapes a decade of a child's life. We require an OTP-verified Indian phone number on every review so the rating you read is from a real parent, not a bot or a competitor. We never publish your phone number.
How accurate are the fee numbers?
Every fee line you see — tuition, transport, books, uniform, caution deposit — is sourced from the school directly and reviewed editorially before publishing. If something looks off, click 'flag' on the profile and we re-verify within 48 hours.
What is the AI Counselor doing under the hood?
It's a Claude-powered assistant with our school database as its only source. It does not make up schools or pull from the open web. It can search by board, fee range, neighbourhood, facilities and commute, and answer follow-up questions in English or Hindi.
Will schools see my contact details when I send an inquiry?
Yes — only the school you selected, and only the fields you filled in (name, phone, optional email, child class, message). We never sell or share your data with anyone else.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, in one click from the /account page. There's a 30-day grace window during which signing back in restores everything; after that it's hard-deleted from our database and from Meilisearch.
For schools
How do I claim my school's listing?
Search for your school on MeetSchools, open the profile, and click 'Claim this school'. We'll verify ownership via the school's official email or a postal letter, then unlock the admin dashboard.
What does a paid plan unlock?
A paid plan adds a verified badge, a richer profile (gallery, video, principal letter, virtual tour link), faster lead routing (WhatsApp + email within 5 minutes vs. 30), the inquiry inbox with notes and reminders, and review-response tools. It does not boost your search ranking — that's earned by ratings and reviews.
Where do leads come from?
Parents who shortlist your school and tap 'Inquire' on your profile. Every lead is OTP-verified at the parent's phone and arrives in your inbox with the parent's name, phone, the class they're applying to, the year, and any message they wrote.
Can we hide a negative review?
No. Reviews from OTP-verified parents stay public. You can post a public response, and you can flag a review for fact-checking if a specific claim is wrong — we adjudicate within 5 business days.
Where do payments run?
Razorpay, with annual billing in INR. We're GST-compliant and a tax invoice is generated for every successful order.
Privacy, data & DPDP
Where is my data stored?
AWS Mumbai (ap-south-1), Indian region. Postgres for structured data, Meilisearch for the search index, Redis for queues. Backups are encrypted and retained for 7 days.
What rights do I have under the DPDP Act?
Access (export your data as JSON from /account/export), correction (edit your phone or name from /account), erasure (one-click delete from /account/delete with a 30-day grace), withdrawal of consent, and grievance redressal. Full breakdown on /dpdp.
Do you use third-party trackers?
No advertising or fingerprinting trackers. We use a single first-party Auth.js cookie for sign-in, and may add privacy-friendly product analytics later (page views, no PII) — disclosed before we turn anything on.
How do I contact the grievance officer?
Email grievance@meetschools.com or use the channels listed on /grievance. SLA: 30 days, usually closed in a week.

Where are you based?
Gurgaon, Haryana. Our team works hybrid out of the Gurgaon office, with remote India considered for senior engineering and data roles.
Which cities are live?
Delhi NCR is live with 500+ verified schools. Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai are scheduled across the next twelve months — we add a city only when we can verify the long tail of schools, not just the famous ones.
